What is a lunar return?

A lunar return is the moment the Moon reaches the same tropical zodiac longitude it occupied at your birth. This tool finds the first return after you calculate, then casts a chart for that moment. Astrologers use it as a short-term reflection chart.

Why do I need my birth time?

The Moon moves enough during a day that a birth date or Moon sign alone cannot establish the return time. Use a known time and birthplace. If a clock change makes the local birth time ambiguous, check the original record before proceeding.

Which location should I choose?

The tool defaults to your birthplace. You can also cast the return for another place. The event time and planets stay the same; the rising sign and houses change. Astrology has several traditions for choosing a return location, so the choice is left to you.

Can I save the result?

You can create a private image of the return chart and reading, then save or share it. You can also download a calendar marker. Names, birth details, and place coordinates are omitted from these files. The result is not added to your saved birth charts.

What dates does the calculator support?

The calculation accepts resolved birth and reference instants from January 2, 1800, with a latest reference of November 21, 2199. It searches up to 40 days ahead. Historical and distant future dates use the engine’s time model and do not establish exact civil-clock accuracy.
